Durham Forest

Durham Forest, part of an extensive forested area approximately 7 km. south of Uxbridge (Ontario), has numerous trails, including sections of the Trans Canada and Oak Ridges trails. Adjacent to south west corner of Durham Forest is an area owned by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority, know as the Walker Woods in its north part, and in the south as Glen Major Forest. Together they provide a popular network of mountain-biking and hiking trails both easy and difficult.

To locate the forest use Google map.
The main parking lot is accessible off the Uxbridge 7th Concession Rd just south of Regional Rd 21, and other locations are indicated on the trail maps below.

Mike's Maps

I have created maps of the interior of Durham Forest and of the Walker Woods / Glen Major Forest area using data collected partly using a handheld GPS receiver and partly from compass-based dead reckoning. In addition I developed a custom mapping software package for rendering the data.

These are detailed maps at a scale of 2 metres per pixel, and some print drivers have difficulty scaling them to fit on a sheet of paper. Try printing them with no margins.

Please note: although I have tried to indicate which trails might be closed the maps are NOT a guarantee of right-of-way.
